Tundra House history
This house was built in the ’60s as a block of bedsits for the “filleting girls”.
For many years there had been wretched housing conditions, abandoned fish factories were used as overnight accommodation. The pleasure was certainly very big when it finally was possible to have warm water indoor shower and toilet.
The last fish factory was in operation until the end of the ’80s. Then the “Black Sea” definitely put a stop to the fishing adventure in Kongsfjord.
In 2008 the house was completely restored and the first guests could move.
